The Truth is a play that introduces us to Michel, who is having an affair with Alice, the wife of his best friend, Paul. If that wasn’t complicated enough, he is also trying to keep this relationship hidden from both Paul and his wife, Laurence, which makes the narrative much harder to control. In this witty comedy of deception, everyone is hiding something from someone, and every question makes every lie harder to cover up.
Tony Award-nominated Stephen Mangan returns to the London stage as Michel, starring alongside Ardal O’Hanlon as Paul, Sarah Hadland as Alice, and double Olivier Award-winner Janie Dee as Laurence. Written by Oscar-winning playwright Florian Zeller and translated by Christopher Hampton, The Truth runs in the West End for a limited season.
